After the well-received first edition in 2022, the second organisation of ARCHITECT@WORK Brussels is coming closer. On Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 May, you have an appointment at sheds 1 and 2 in Tour & Taxis, for an event running under the theme 'Super Skin'. ARCHITECT@WORK Brussels can already announce its first big renowned speaker: Michiel Riedijk of Rotterdam-based firm Neutelings Riedijk Architects.
The theme 'Super Skin' not only covers the outer skin of buildings, numerous finishes can also have a Super Skin inside. It is about using high-quality, innovative and sustainable materials, systems and processes that meet the highest standards that architects and designers can set.
You can meet Michiel Riedijk on 30 May, at 17.30h. During his seminar, he will talk about the renovation of Gare Maritime (on the Tour & Taxis site) realised by his office. With this, Neutelings Riedijk Architects - which specialises in designing and realising complex projects for public, commercial and cultural buildings - was anything but its first attempt. Previous realisations include the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, the MAS Museum in Antwerp, the Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum and the Cultural Centre 'Rozet' in Arnhem.
